If you want to shepherd change — you need a different approach to the one utilized in the past.
Enough with the grandiose behemoths of policy. Give us true Hope we can believe in…
Enough with the much promising pronouncements, always coming in a distant future and yet never being delivered in the present time.
Indeed, today we no longer need leaders that promise ultimate victory… because they are tiresome in their lies, obfuscations, and sleight of hand magic of never delivering the “goods” yet always promising that the delivery is right around the corner…
Certainly we do not need leaders that promise all manner of balloons, soap-bubbles, and hoaxes of lugubrious living — all designed to put us to sleep with lullabies about their future victory over all the forces of nature, climate, and ecosystem management…
We are savvy, and we know full well, that we cannot win anything over Nature, Climate Change, or even over the Weather — both short and long term… but we need to at least change our siren song lulling us to sleep until we all perish in the pyre of our vanities…
We certainly do not need entertaining fear mongering leaders, or their fearful minions, & debutantes…
But perhaps we need some fresh leaders that understand that Sustainability is not a short game…
And that aviation is not a dirty word…
That’s what we want.

Indeed, we need leaders who know that we fully understand that they can stop the nasty pollution of our water, our air, and our soil, by simply focusing on the solutions, and not on the problems…
We need leaders who know how to stop wars, and start dealing with real problems of our people and this Earth.
We need leaders who know that in order to “save” the World — they need to learn how to save, utilize, & thrive, by realizing that we all live together on a planet with limited resources, and with respect towards one another, and thus we must learn to share and exist in harmony.
We need leaders who know how to share, and how to stop thinking that science can fix everything, and understand that nothing will get fixed if people are not onboard with the solutions at hand today, and not in some distant future in a distant galaxy.
We need leaders who know how to stop hoping that their and our grandchildren will be ok no matter how much waste and destruction we create today, because they can take a spaceship to another planet.
And above all else — we need leaders who know how to exhibit Loving Kindness for all Human Beings.
Yours,
Dr Churchill

Is that too much to ask ?
PPS:
Here is a friend Cristina “Mitty” Mittermeier. One of the most inspiring women in the World for Nature, People, and our Natural Space.
She has spent more than 30 years documenting our ever changing world.
And this is what she has to share:
“I want my photographs to inspire people to dream about the possibilities of our planet.”
“It’s still all out there. We still have wildlife.”
“And live on a planet that is paradise, not a nightmare.”
“When you spend time with indigenous people, you see how careful they are. They don’t take more than they need. They don’t hoard wealth for themselves.”
“As long as we are not losing our humanity there is still hope.”
“He works at the home depot in the day. But the rest of the time he is a warrior.”
“If we change our mindset to think about the creatures that share the planet with us, to be our fellow travellers, fellow passengers on the spaceship. We might start treating them with a little more respect, compassion and curiosity for what they bring to the integrity of the ecosystems that keep us alive.”
We need to amplify voices like hers.
So share her work, buy her book, invite her to your companies & co.
Giving hope was never easier.
Let’s all be more selective about who we give our attention and focus to.
Her art is on display in Davos; I hope decision-makers are paying good attention to her work and messages.
Don’t give into despair.
Instead — please work towards hope…
